AEON Mall Jakarta Garden City
AEON Mall Jakarta Garden City, in the Jakarta Garden City township in Cakung, was AEON's first mall in Jakarta when it opened in September 2017. Background
The mall opened on 30 September 2017 on an 8.5-hectare plot bought from developer Modernland, as AEON's second mall in Indonesia after BSD City. It has about 165,000 m² of floor space over five levels and opened with 227 tenants. Jakarta Garden City around it is a 370-hectare township with lakes, parks, IKEA (opened 2021) and a hospital.
What to see and do
Ride the J-Sky ferris wheel on the third floor: 32 air-conditioned gondolas for up to six people, about 15 minutes a turn, with couple, family and karaoke-cabin packages (last tickets around 21:00). The mall opened with an ice rink of about 1,800 m² and a CGV cinema with nine screens. The anchor AEON store, Japanese restaurants and the third-floor Gourmet Garden food court (about 1,300 seats) are the main draws.
Tips
Go for J-Sky at dusk for the city lights, on a weekday to avoid queues. Combine with IKEA and the JGC lake park, or the Food Garden on JGC Boulevard. See our East Jakarta shopping guide.
Getting there
Ride-hailing is simplest; the mall has parking for about 3,000 cars and 1,400 motorbikes. The nearest KRL station is Cakung on the Cikarang line, a short ride-hail away, and the JORR toll road passes nearby.
